NEC’s IP Migration Professional Support Services

NEC Corporation (NEC; TSE: 6701) announced today the completion of IP Migration Professional Support Services for the enhancement of their IP based Mobile Access Network for PT XL Axiata Tbk (XL Axiata; IDX: EXCL), one of Indonesia’s leading mobile operators.

In recent years, mobile network operators have been facing the challenge of migrating their mobile access networks from legacy telecommunication transmission technologies, such as Asynchronous Transmission Mode (ATM) and Synchronous Transmission Mode (STM), to world Internet standard IP based technologies. These network technology enhancements in the telecom and broadband access networks are being implemented in order to reduce mobile network equipment costs, improve the efficiency of operations and increase network capacity.
