Battling out through the league matches, ‘Ek Veera 9 Packers’ emerged victorious after defeating 5 teams across Mumbai to take home the Uninor Box ka Boss Trophy. They were crowned the champions of ‘Uninor Box ka Boss’ Season 2 after beating finalists ‘A.G. Packers’ by 2 wickets. The team also received an award of Rs 75,000 with the runners-up taking home Rs 40,000.
Joining Upanga Dutta, Uninor’s Mumbai Circle Business Head were Mandira Bedi and Pravin Amre who applauded the winners and presented the winning medals and trophies. On strike with the teams, Pravin Amre also held a net session for the finalists before they went on to play the big finale.
Captain of the winning team, Amit Patil said, “These two weeks have been challenging for us as we competed with some of the best cricketers in Mumbai and I’m so happy that we finally made it to the top. This one was a double victory for us as we also got the golden opportunity of playing a net session with Pravin Sir. I am a big fan and his tips really helped me improve my performance to clinch the winning title.”
Currently the coach of the Mumbai Cricket Team, Pravin Amre has helped train some of Mumbai’s promising cricket enthusiasts and is the only Indian cricketer to score a half century on his ODI debut and also a century on his test debut.
“To be able to bring together hundreds of cricketing enthusiasts across Mumbai on such an organized platform is a task in itself. I’m glad Uninor took the initiative and gave me a chance to witness such promising and budding talent,” said Mr. Pravin Amre. “I look forward to more such community initiatives from Uninor in the future.”
Grabbing more limelight, the winners will be visible across Mumbai on Uninor hoardings and also go live on an exclusive interview with 98.3 Radio Mirchi, radio partners for Uninor Box ka Boss.
“The kind of response and participation Uninor Box ka Boss has received goes to tell how dedicated Mumbai’s youth are towards the game of cricket. Uninor continues to connect with Mumbaikars through our various community and youth platforms. We are encouraged by the success of Uninor Box ka Boss- season 2 and promise to return next year with an even more entertaining and challenging tournament. Congratulations to the Winners!” said Upanga Dutta, Mumbai Circle Head, Uninor.
