Tuesday, July 17, 2012 Lenovo and Intel today shared solutions that can transform the learning experience in classrooms in India. These solutions are more student-centric as opposed to the traditional teacher centric solutions and will help to ride the new wave of digital learning. Recognizing the importance of the right kind of knowledge, skills and experience to enhance the learning experience. Lenovo and Intel have introduced an impressive range of PCs- the Lenovo Classmate + and ThinkCentre TINY, both of which will help to address this booming opportunity and prepare students for 21st century success.

These new PC's offer students, teachers and IT administrators more ruggedness with new durability features like greater spill resistance, affordability, battery life up to 10 hours and enhanced usability with Intel® Learning Series software suite for using the e-reader, web camera and digital writing features. TINY is Lenovo's innovative and smallest ThinkCentre Desktop ever with the latest and most comprehensive hardware based management and security capabilities.

PC growth in the Education segment has been exponential. Intel along with Lenovo, which is ranked Number 1 in India overall as well as in the Education PC market (as per IDC Asia/Pacific Quarterly PC Tracker Q12012), is riding on this wave. The new range of products will aid students with easy access to class materials and other resources that expand the classroom virtually beyond the school walls for a more dynamic learning experience.

Speaking on Lenovo’s focus on the education sector, Rahul Agarwal, Executive Director, Commercial Business Lenovo India said, ‘The education industry worldwide as well as in India, is rapidly evolving to become more student-centric and this is an opportune time for solution providers to leverage this opportunity. As the No 1 PC maker in Education in India and globally, we are committed to enhancing learning via our platform of PC solutions designed for students. By joining with Intel to create the new Lenovo Classmate+ laptops, we are demonstrating how mobile computing fits into any learning environment, no matter the location or budget. Our breakthrough desktop, ThinKCentre TINY is ideal for behind the board implementation, has 40% less energy consumption and is just 1 litre in size."

“Intel and Lenovo share a commitment to improving the student experience around the world,” Michael de la Cruz, Senior Global Sales and Marketing Manager, World Ahead Education Team, Intel Corporation. “As schools decide which technology will debut in their classrooms this fall, IT administrators and decision makers can rely on the proven value of Intel Learning Series Software and Lenovo’s classroom-ready Classmate+ laptops and ThinkCentre TINY for the ideal learning experience.

Lenovo and Intel today also shared their solutions with key educational service providers in Delhi where they provided a perspective on the challenges, trends and usage models of the Indian education segment, while sharing the roadmap to address changing needs and opportunities in India today.
