The DsiN MesseCampus at it-sa 2012 offers representatives from the IT security industry a platform for contact with students and professors for the fourth time. The German government’s IT Representative, Cornelia Rogall-Grothe, will open the MesseCampus with a keynote address on the third day of the exhibition, Thursday, 18 October 2012. Noted professors will then give short presentations that show the importance of IT security for future-orientated information technology training. After this, exhibitors from the various product segments meet the students for discussions on their personal careers.
it-sa, one of the most important IT security exhibitions in the world, and the DsiN MesseCampus again networks students on information technology and related courses with the IT security industry and leading universities of applied sciences. “How politics can promote IT security” will be explained in her keynote by Cornelia Rogall-Grothe, the German government’s Information Technology Representative and Head of the National Cyber Security Council. At the DsiN MesseCampus, recognized experts provide background and information on current IT security topics in three short lectures on “9 Minutes of IT Security”. Prof. Udo H. Kalinna, Prof. Dr. Norbert Pohlmann and Prof. Dr. Sachar Paulus examine the question of how secure passwords can be, what risks are associated with Facebook and what data-protection-friendly technology approaches look like. Another exciting presentation will be given by Sascha Pfeiffer, Security Consultant at Sophos. He looks into the conflict between IT security, social media and BYOD. A panel of experts from research and industry will then discuss career prospects in the IT security industry.
