txtWeb’s App2Fame Developer Challenge 2012 Is back

After the roaring success of App2Fame last year, txtWeb is back with the second edition of India’s biggest SMS-App Developer Challenge – App2Fame 2012. The eagerly-awaited online National-Level Developer Contest, App2Fame is designed to promote developers to build innovative SMS applications using txtWeb platform. The winners can take home whopping 7.5 lakhs worth of prizes at the end of the contest. The last date to submit the app is September 8, 2012.

“The response and success App2Fame Challenge saw last year was really overwhelming. Thousand plus innovative apps were submitted across categories, and the winners clearly represented the most creative and innovative developer minds” said Manish Maheshwari, Global Business Head, txtWeb. “With txtWeb, we’re looking at bridging the digital divide by empowering billions of mobile users globally access information and services through text-based micro apps on any mobile phone even without data plan or internet connectivity”, he added.
This year, the kind of response we are already witnessing is a clear indication of how the developer community has received txtWeb and our constant endeavors to create and share platforms for innovation.
The contest is open for participation to anyone -- students, professionals, start-ups and businesses. The apps will be judged based on various categories like Most Popular App, Best Open Sourced App and Business Solutions App. The top 3 winners for the Most-Popular and Business Solutions categories will receive INR 1 Lakh, INR 50, 000 and INR 30, 000 respectively. The Open source category will see the winner walk away with INR 1 Lakh. Added to this, any app that gets more than 1000 unique users wins INR 3000. Last year’s winning applications have attracted thousands of users. These SMS applications have brought a sea change in mobile user’s life. On any given day over 1 million requests come from users across the country to use txtWeb apps for information and services.
