Jagriti Yatra Announces Partnership With Dell India

Saturday, September 15, 2012 Jagriti Yatra and Dell India has announced a partnership, which aims to support the spirit of entrepreneurship amongst budding entrepreneurs. The program is executed by Jagriti Sewa Sansthan, and in partnership with Dell, will serve Jagriti's long term aim of Enterprise-Led-Development in the country. Dell India is the partner for Jagriti Yatra 2012, an 8,000 kilometer long annual national train journey of 15 days, having 450 young men and women on board who are there with an objective to learn from model social and business entrepreneurs. The Yatra is a flagship event of Jagriti, which seeks to awaken the spirit of enterprise in the youth, particularly in smaller towns and villages of the country. The program so far has been able to build more than 100 enterprises in the past four years.






Dell has empowered people across the globe with their technology offerings, to fulfill their dreams. Supporting the small and medium businesses is one of the top five key global priorities for Dell, particularly in the Tier-2 and the Tier-3 cities, to increase technology penetration. The company aims to educate small businesses on how technology can help them address a number challenges and become a strategic driver for the growth of their business. Keeping in mind the needs of growing entrepreneurial businesses, Dell India has complete range of technology solutions, specifically for small and medium businesses that are built for optimized productivity, cost-efficiency and flexibility to help them scale up quickly.

Jagriti Yatra is a year-long program executed over four phases in a year, culminating in an annual national train journey at the end of the year. The train journey covers a distance of 8,000 kms starting from Mumbai and traversing cities and villages near Bangalore, Madurai, Chennai, Vishakhapatnam, Gram Vikas (near Bhubaneshwar), Patna, Deoria (near Gorakhpur), Delhi, Tilonia (Rajasthan) and Ahmedabad. During the journey the 'Yatris' meet stalwarts like Dr. S. Aravind of the Aravind Eye Care System, Madurai; Mr R. Elango in Kuthambakkam, near Chennai; Joe Madiath, founder and executive of Gram Vikas; Anshu Gupta, founder of Goonj; and Bunker Roy, founder of the Barefoot College among others.

Speaking on behalf of the Dell Mr. Vikas Bhonsle, General Manager, Mid-market, Dell India said, "The Jagriti Yatra program offers a unique opportunity to engage with entrepreneurial set ups across the country and immense scope for learning and growth.
