Friday, March 09, 2012: NComputing, the US-based desktop virtualisation solutions provider, recently launched its new M300 device. The device provides rich desktop virtualisation experience to three users simultaneously, expandable to up to 45 users from a joint workspace, classroom, library, call centre or similar infrastructure. Through the new M300 device, a single host machine can power these 45 users in one go.
The M300 3-in-1 thin client kit is priced at Rs 6,000 and is available from NComputing's national distributor, Redington India and its 700 channel partners across the country. “The M300 and older products have been strongly adopted by the education sector and SMEs. The government backed-ESIC has also installed thousands of our devices across the nation,” said Manish Sharma, VP, Asia Pacific, Ncomputing, in a conversation with EFYTimes. According to an IDC report, in terms of enterprise thin-clients, NComputing aggregated a share of 90 per cent in India.
“The product is 100 per cent secure because of its design. The device carries no instances of data in it, during and after the desktop sessions. As such, it appropriately fits-in for industries such as insurance, banking, finance, defence, where security is a prime concern,” added Sharma, when asked about the security aspect of M300.
