But little did we know, that our visit to the city would result in meeting with the world's only multi-material photopolymer 3D printer.

We aren't talking about any illusion creating 3D printouts here, but those large printers that are capable of creating true 3D prototypes of the gadgets, automotive parts, devices, etc that we use in our every day life.

We are talking about the Israel-based Objet here, that is the provider of high resolution 3D printers and materials across the globe. Their products are widely used in industries such as- consumer electronics, automotive, education and many other industries where design and manufacturing constitutes their core business. Aimed at cutting down the costs of error, the company provides 3D printing solutions by offering confidentiality and meeting the different implications of the materials required from different industry users.

Objet comprises three families of 3D printers. The Desktop series for the individual designers and architects, the EDEN family of printers, which can take different types of materials that Objet provides and the top of the line, Objet Connex, which is the world's only series of printers that can print mulitple materials. Multiple material can give customers the necessary flexibility and rigidness, in a near perfect model, that they need in their prototypes.

Speaking about the Indian market, Ashan Dhunna, sales director, India and Middle East said, "India being a key market for us, we have appointed Redington as our master distributor. Apart from them, we have a nine channel network across India. Redington will be providing 4-in-1 support comprising, sales, availability of printing materials, service and support."

The Objet family of printers support up to 14 varieties of different materials and Connex is capable of mixing these 14 materials together to generate a set of digital materials of up to 60+ different materials. This can be of great adoptive utility to various industries such as shoe, sports, tyre, where a perfect mix of rigidness and flexibility is required.
