Imagine a phone that could detect harmful radiations around you. Well, this unique technology has actually come to the mobile phones by Japanese company, Softbank. The company has entered the market with its first Pantone 5 107SH. The smartphone comes with an in-built Geiger counter.
The company developed it after the nuclear disaster in Fukushima, which raised serious concerns regarding harmful radiation levels in Japan, leaving many worried. The radiation detector in the phone is not only user-friendly but is capable of measuring radiation levels with 20 per cent accuracy. Specs of the phone reveal an Android 4.0 OS, 9.4-cm (3.7-inch) LCD screen, and a 4 megapixel camera. Moreover, the phone is available eight vibrant colors: black, white, purple, yellow, blue, orange, and two types of pink.
According to a Wired report, this is not the first smartphone with Geiger count but is definitely the first with radiation detector, which is extremely easy to use. To turn the radiation sensor on, one just need to press a button below the screen, which records the surroundings and gives the respective details. The phone is expected to release sometime around the end of July. However, there is no news about the pricing of the device.
