IIT Mumbai Testing Aakash With Improved Specs: DataWind

DataWind has reportedly submitted 100 samples to the IIT Mumbai and they will get feedback in a couple of weeks.

Wednesday, June 13, 2012: Here comes some more news in the Aakash land! Recently telecom minister, Kapil Sibal announced that the specifications for the new Aakash tablet will be announced by end of June. He mentioned that once the specifications are finalised, the manufacturing of the tablets will start soon. According to recent reports, UK based DataWind has said that IIT Mumbai is testing the improved Aakash with their proposed specifications.
"IIT Mumbai is in the process of testing the samples and developing applications and content for engineering colleges," said Suneet Singh Tuli, CEO, DataWind. Tuli also said that the samples were according to the Aakash 2 tablet specifications proposed by them.

DataWind has reportedly submitted 100 samples to the IIT Mumbai and they will get feedback in a couple of weeks.

The Aakash tablet was under IIT Rajasthan earlier but the institute rejected the tablet due to its weak specification, therefore, it was later shifted to IIT Mumbai.
