Wednesday, June 20, 2012: Optical networking specialist Optelian is pleased to announce that its LightGAIN system has received MEF certification for Ethernet Private Line applications.

The Metro Ethernet Forum (MEF) certification program ensures that products conform to MEF global Carrier Ethernet specifications through an independent testing process. It allows service providers to confidently select standardized solutions and accelerate their deployment of new systems and services.

“MEF certification provides independent recognition that Optelian LightGAIN systems adhere to Carrier Ethernet standards. This gives our customers confidence that LightGAIN will deliver their services effectively without having to do their own verification and interoperability testing prior to deploying,” said Sheldon Walklin, Chief Technology Officer at Optelian.
