“We are not sure but I think I am possibly the only American Express customer in India to get selected for self served twitter advertisement.”

Friday, June 22, 2012: In February, Twitter joined hands with American Express to offer its small business card members and merchants the chance to use Twitter advertising to better engage with the people they want to reach. Yashraj Vakil, chief operating officer at Red Digital, a new media agency focusing across digital platforms, applied for the service and he just got lucky. Twitter small business ads was opened for 10,000 American Express cardholders and only a handful were selected for exclusive access for the self served Tweets, and Yashraj Vakil was among the selected ones from India. Speaking exclusively to EFYTimes.com, Vakil said, “We are not sure but I think I am possibly the only American Express customer in India to get selected for self served Twitter advertisement.”
“Self served tweets will be very beneficial from our company's point of view. Through Twitter we can serve our clients in a better way. We are very focused in social media. Previously, we had spread the Miranda pagalpanti on Facebook and the self served Twitter advertisement access will help us greatly,” added Vakil.

Initially, only a small group of businesses will have access to this new advertising opportunity. Twitter will steadily increase the number of participating small businesses in the coming days.
