Saturday, July 21, 2012: Samsung had issued a statement about launching Galaxy Note 10.1 tablet PC sometime back and now the company has sent out media invites saying that they are launching a new Galaxy Device this August 15. The media invite just states a Galaxy device, and it is not clear yet if it will be a tablet or a smartphone that will be unveiled.
Samsung’s flagship- the Galaxy SIII was recently launched, which makes it highly unlikely that they will launch another smartphone. This makes the probability of Galaxy Note 10.1 higher. A report by CNET states, “The division that sent the e-mail, Samsung Electronics America, usually handles launches for non-smartphone devices, like tablets.”

The Galaxy Note 10.1 features a 25.7-cm (10.1-inch) touch screen with S-pen capabilities. It includes the new ‘S Note’ feature that will combine notes and sketches together with web content, images and other digital media into a personalised storyboard. It’s based on a 1.4 GHz dual core processor and runs Android 4.0 OS aka Ice Cream Sandwich. It has 3G capabilities and no voice calling support is included in this tablet.
