However, it has been in new for an entirely different reason of late- the company plans to launch an Android Jelly Bean tablet. Well, the news is that the company has finally taken the plunge and launched the much-awaited Jelly Bean tablet. And this will be the world’s cheapest Jelly Bean tablet- Smart Tab 1.
The tablet will sport the ultra low-power MIPS-Based SoC from Ingenic. The tablet comes with 17.7-cm (7-inch) capacitive 5 Point multi-touch screen, a 2-megapixel front camera, support for HDMI, 32GB of expandable storage via the microSD card slot and 3G support through a USB dongle. All in all, it has all the essential features that you may need. Those who already own a Smart Tab 1, need not worry. You will soon receive a free upgrade to the latest Jelly Bean OS.

Before you jump the gun just by hearing its features, we got to tell you that the tablet is priced at Rs 6999, which makes it approximately US$125. The tablet has just been launched in India as of now and interested buyers can purchase it from the official Karbonn website. The tablet is also listed in a number of online as well as offline retail outlets in India like Reliance Digital and Walmart.

The company’s press release reads: The Indian media tablet market is estimated to grow exponentially over the next few years with the affordable priced tablets popping up from different companies.
